Refugee Resettlement: RESET Program

The URC developed the Refugee RESET Committee to start the process of reestablishing a refugee resettlement site in St. Joseph County.

Since formation of the Committee, the URC:

- Committed to help at least 50 refugees resettle in the community (to date, Feb. 2024, 44 have been served)

- Resettled 36 Afghans evacuated in 2021, including five families and 14 single individuals

- Assisted over 100 Ukrainian refugee “parolees” who have arrived since the start of the war in 2022

- Established a women’s empowerment group, with around 20 women and children meeting to socialize, learn English, and integrate into the community
