“The Best of the URC” will be presented this fall. Start looking for your best talent as there will be auditions and cash awards to the faith community sponsoring the winning entries.

Introduction to Qi Gong…
Qi Gong literally translated means “breath/energy work”. It is thousands of years old. Our need to slow down and get in touch with our body, mind and spirit was as evident then as now. Qi Gong can be thought of as a “moving meditation.” It is designed to bring our body, mind and spirit into alignment and balance. The Service Fair is over but donations are still needed!
To address the needs of the homeless a Homeless Connect Service Fair was held on Wednesday, June 15th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at Broadway Christian Parish UMC. They provided homeless people with kits of necessary items. Financial donations are also welcome and may be sent to Hope Ministries, marked Homeless Connect. Please drop off donated items to Broadway Christian Parish at 1412 S. Carroll St. Call Rev. Nancy Nichols for more information at 289-0333.
Items needed are:
Travel size wipes, Small Hand Sanitizers, Granola Bars, socks, combs or hair picks, nail clippers, Chap stick, Small body lotion with sunscreen, Sun glasses from dollar store, stamped envelopes, safety pins, band aids and gallon freezer strength zip lock bags.
The hours for the South Bend Advocacy Center are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm. The Mishawaka Advocacy Center will not reopen at this time.
Advocacy Center funds are available for assistance with Birth Certificates and Identification, Heating Disconnects and some transportation needs.
Currently we have NO funds available for water bills or rent assistance.
