The South Bend Silver Hawks and the Michiana Military Support Network (MMSN) will host Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 22, 2010 to honor those serving our country.  Discounted tickets of $4 for box seats and $3 for bleachers will be offered to any member of the military.  The Silver Hawks will take on the Bowling Green Hot Rods at 2:00 p.m.  From 12:30 pm through the sixth inning, a vendor's area will be open outside the stadium where various organizations will provide information about their services and assistance provided to military families.  Fans must have a game ticket to enter the vendor area. Various ties to the military will also be present throughout the game.  Military children will be introduced with the players before the game and the Clay JROTC Colorguard will also be present.  The game is also a "Canine's at the Cove" day, so service members are encouraged to bring their service dogs.  Following the game, children of all ages are invited down to the field for the Post Game Run the Bases.
